Motorola Announces Acquisition of Modulus Video

SCHAUMBuRG, IL -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced an agreement to acquire video coding developer Modulus Video for an undisclosed sum.

Modulus is a designer of MPEG-4 advanced video coding compression systems that assist in efficient video transmission over IPTV, cable, broadcast and satellite systems.

Upon completion of the transaction, Modulus will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola and its operations will be maintained in Sunnyvale, CA.  It will also be merged into the Home and Networks Mobility business segment within Motorola.
